Solo Tray Mini Book Designed by Pam Roate

Pam Roate Solo Tray Mini Book is the perfect combination of sweet meets unexpected!

Pam created a mini book with a Solo Tray from 7gypsies as the base and focal piece… how cool is that ???

By using a piece of chipboard to create stability for the spine and front cover, Pam created pages and pockets out of Canvas Corp and Authentique’s “Lively” Cardstock that are the perfect backdrop for your favorite photos and mementos.

This book is truly a masterpiece, with machine stitched touches, tons of textural goodness including chocolate corrugated cardstock and mini clothespins.

Combine these tactile elements with Authentique’s gorgeous prints, and you have an original mini book with tons of style and substance.

“Thankful” Authentique Blog Post

My Book of Thanks, Wine Bottle, Napkin Rings designed by Keri Sallee

Creative Craftiness meets home décor in these gorgeous and functional projects by Keri Sallee.  Hinge two stretched canvases from Canvas Corp together and what do you get?

A lovely piece of art worthy of adorning that special spot in your home. Keri rolled Authentique’s lovely “Thankful” collection papers to create an assortment of roses for the cover of this project.

Finish it off with faux bricks fashioned from modeling paste and a stencil, a bit of floral wire and some hand cut leaves crafted from handmade cotton paper from Canvas corp.

What’s inside?  A pocket with the cutest accordion mini album tied with jute and embellished with Authenique’s papers and accents.

I love the idea of adding notes from family and friends of what they are most thankful for this holiday season.

Creating custom shadow boxes by decorating the “wrong” side of a stretched canvas, is definitely a favorite technique at Canvas Corp. Think of the possibilities!

What to do with your leftover papers and accents?  Wrap a wine bottle with burlap fabric and embellish with specialty and printed papers.

Create napkin rings and table toppers as well!

Products Used:

Canvas Corp: White Script on Kraft Cardstock, Tan Damask on Ivory Cardstock , Natural Jute, Natural Mini Clothespins, Burlap Fabric, 8×10” Stretched Canvases, Kraft E Flute, Chocolate E Flute

Tattered Angels: Saffron Glaze, Warm Green Plain Jane, Red Rock Baseboard

Thankful Collection by Authentique

Angel Canvas designed by Annette Gean

Mini Chipboard Album designed by Annette Gean

Combine touches of whimsy and tons of creativity and what do you get? Two beautiful projects designed by Annette Gean that inspire us to think outside the paper crafting box!

Annette combined creative bases from 7gypsies (chipboard mini album) and Canvas Corp (stretched canvas) to create the most amazingly unique combinations of techniques, stamped images and printed papers that will make you  want to get out the trimmer and  Mod Podge, and make a big mess.

Piecing gorgeous pieces of printed paper from Authentique’s  “Lively” Collection, Annette has combined the timeless technique of paper piecing with the funkiness of altered art.

When you break the process down, it’s not all that difficult… simply cut papers to create an image, adhere layers to canvas or book base, embellish with stamped images and paper accents, then top all layers off with Mod Podge to seal.

Check out the combinations of prints when you add Canvas Corp’s basic cardstock prints and the bright and “Lively” patterns from Authentique.

Product Used:

Canvas Corp: Orange & White Diamond Cardstock, Tan and Ivory Damask cardstock, Chocolate and Ivory Leopard Cardstock, Orange & White Dot Reverse Cardstock, Orange Mini clothespins, Lime Green Mini clothespins, 10×10” Stretched Canvas

Canvas Corp & Authentique blog hop day 1

We are so excited to team up with Authentique this week and share some amazing projects created by the Canvas Corp team.

We love that the Canvas Home Basics line offer a wide range of surfaces and textures that are the perfect building block for an amazing paper line like this.

You will even find our basic printed papers make their way onto a project or two.

After you check out the projects here on the Canvas Corp blog, be sure to head on over to the Authentique Paper blog to find out what the talented members of their Design Team  have in store for you today!

7gypsies/Canvas Home Basics meets Authentique’s Curiosity Line

Don’t you love mixing and matching product to come up with unique projects?  Simply by using a touch of metal like 7gypsies Antique Brass Pyramid Studs, a few natural accents like Canvas Corp’s Kraft Corrugated Cardstock and Small Natural Clothespins, and a combination of papers and accents from Authentiques’ Curiosity Line, Casey Nelson has created the cutest 7gypsies Solo Tray featuring her handsome puppy Cysco.  I love the oodles of textures that are layered to add dimension.  If you look closely, letter stickers are layered on canvas then kraft corrugate paper and then held in place by a paper covered clothespin… so clever the way the simple layers make this project seem like so much more than a paper craft.

Casey’s ATC Envelopes are another study in layers.   She applied gesso to envelopes cut from 7gypsies Postale paper line using stamps, then accented with Tattered Angels Plain Jane in Soft Black.  Next, Casey topped it off with Canvas Fabric pieces, Jute Rope, and Kraft Corrugated Cardstock from Canvas Corp, and papers from Authentique’s Curiosity Line.   I don’t want to neglect to mention her clever use of a common household item… masking tape can be found under the title at the top of each card.  How fun?  Simply tear it and layer with your printed and specialty papers.

Products Casey used:

  • 7gypsies black solo tray
  • 7gypsies Postale Papers
  • Canvas Corp Jute Rope, Kraft Corrugate Cardstock (E-Flute), Canvas Fabric
  • Tattered Angels Plain Jain-Soft Black
  • Authentique Curiosity Line
  • Stamps
  • Gesso
  • Masking Tape

die cut machines – not just for scrapbooking or paper crafters!

we had so much fun playing with the Spellbinder and Canvas Corp papers!

3-D centerpieces are easy to make by cutting 8 shapes with Spellbinders, trimming the bottoms to make the flat and then folding them in half. Glue them all together by adhering the backs together one at a time to make a circle. Insert an inked dowel rod through the middle of your shape topped with a cut out from Canvas Corp’s Halloween Sampler.

It is very easy to make simple, household items festive for any occasion. Simply by taking mason jars full of candy and adding a wrap of Canvas Corp Paper,  a few fun Spellbinders shapes layered on top and a name tag, you’ve got a fun place card that doubles as their gift to take home…all for less than $1.50 each.

A wine bottle that has been decorated to match the theme of your party is also a great addition, whether you plan on serving wine or not! Again, much like the mason jars, simply wrapping the bottle in Canvas Corp Paper (no need to remove the label!) and layering fun shapes from Spellbinders Dies and Canvas Corp Halloween Sampler,  you have instant to your party-scape. The buttons threaded on wire around the neck add a fun element that is echoed by the same buttons on wire on the bottom of the wine glasses to act as wine glass markers so that your guest don’t get their Reisling mixed up with someone else Chardonnay.

Napkin rings can be easily made by wrapping Canvas Corp paper around your napkin and adding some fun Roses made from the Spellbinders’ Spiral Blossom one (in black of course!) Tags are simply Canvas Corp paper with layers of images from the CC Halloween Sampler.

Blog Hopping with Sweet Stamp Shop-Day 4!!

We have been having so much fun this week with Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps!

Have you hopped over to their blog? They have some GREAT ideas for using Canvas Corp Products!

(yesterday’s was my favorite…so far!)

Click here to check them out: http://sweetstampshop.blogspot.com/

Today project is by…ME! Keri!

For this project, I used Sweet Stamp Shop’s “Against the Grain” Stamp Set, Canvas Corp’s “French Baby Girl Words on Ivory”  and “Baby Girl Sampler” and Canvas Corp’s pink Cardstock.

The pictures of my daughter aren’t the best (even though her chunky-cheekers are adorable!), but I’m OK with that because Canvas Corp gave me the perfect words to say about what I want for my little girl.

I used Sweet Stamp Shop’s “Against the Grain” Stamp set, BUT instead of seeing it as a woodgrain, my girly-girl mind thought “HUH…that kind of looks like a zebra print.” So I used the LARGE grained stamp and stamped it twice a piece of PINK Canvas Corp paper and then added a thick black embossing powder to add some shine and texture. I used a paper punch to make the fun notebook edge to break up the straight lines a little.

I did the same thing using the small woodgrain “buttons” that come with the set as well and used them as accents in my strip journaling that I cut from the Canvas Corp Baby Girl Sampler.

Here’s a close up of the “zebra print” and the journaling.

I hope you enjoyed by project today! It’s a far jump from my normal style, but here’s my philosophy on scrapbooking:

Sometimes we scrap to learn a new technique.

Sometimes we scrap because we have the perfect picture.

And sometimes we scrap just because we have something to say.

That’s what this layout is about.

Come back tomorrow for one more day of scrappy, hopping fun!
