A Fun and Creative Message Center

So school is back in session or close to it for some states and that means that the rat race begins again. Now that everyone will be busy again at home, it’s important to leave messages to stay in contact, remember to do things and also stay up-to-date on what’s happening with everyone. A message center is a fun and creative way to get everyone in your home on one accord!

Yeah, we know you have your cell phones with unlimited texts plenty of applications to do everything but sometimes you want to make the message more personal and meaningful. For example, you know your son has a very tough test coming up and he has been studying non-stop for days. Wouldn’t it make him feel good to see an encouraging little note from Mom or Dad on his way to school by just checking the message center.

Stick a calendar on there too. That helps for days when you’re going at the speed of light and can’t remember what day it is! A message center can go in the kitchen, by the front door, in a hallway or wherever you know it’s needed.

A message center let’s you remember, reconnect and reach out the old fashion way, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Green Design is in the Planning

Going green is not always about only using green products – planning ahead is one of the best go green options, the less mistakes, the less money, the less waste and the most green option.

When you begin the planning process, make sure to choose natural materials as much as possible. For example, choosing stone or wood countertops would be the better choice over laminate.

For those on a strict budget, you can plan your design to be green and save you money as well. For example, instead of pulling up your current floor, put down an area rug made with eco-friendly materials that will make a bigger visual impact. Home design magazines and catalogs are great to use as references to show you how designers plan for spaces similar to yours.

Choose to get the most use out of natural light as much as possible. In rooms where natural light is sufficient, plan the design of your room to maximize the use of that light during the day.
