Room Spacing: Work with your Designer or be your own Designer

Awhile back we gave you some tips on getting ready to embark on a design project.  Here are some more steps to follow along with your designer or be your own designer.

  • Combine the Room Spacing Kits with a Design Project Organizer to keep all the ideas, samples and floor plans together in one space
  • Bringing spaces to life on design boards has always been a step in the design process, now there is a kit that includes all that you need to bring your design ideas to life
  • After gathering the fabric swatches, paint chips, furniture and accessory photos bringing them together onto one board give you a bird’s eye view of the space and gives you insight into what the room could look like
  • Make more than one if you have not made up your mind about the color, style or design and let your boards help you decide.
  • Get the family involved in the process.  The stickers are repositionable and allows everyone to put things where they would like to see the furniture – you never know, you might get a fresh new look to the space.
  • The Room Spacing Kits are not only about the colors and finishes, but also about the space plan – try more than one space plan to see what will work best in the room and consider adjacencies.

Canvas Corp honored Susan W. Reynolds

Canvas Corp was honored to be a part of Susan W. Reynolds new book Room for Change, Practical Ideas for Reviving after Loss. When we designed our Room Spacing Kits it was our goal to simplify the planning and design process, we did not have the vision that Susan had in using the kits for much more important reasons.

“Room for Change offers a unique approach to helping oneself and others through grief.  Creative outlooks abound in this empowering read.  A welcome addition to the bereavement community and individuals in grief”  Helen Fitzgerald author of The Mourning Handbook

The book focuses on making small changes to your environment that help you in the grieving process.  Our room spacing kits are presented numerous times in the book as a way to first make these changes on paper and then make them in your lives.  The author is certified in the art of interior redesign and wrote the book to assist her in the loss of her husband in recent years.  Readers will be able to understand and visualize how their surroundings can be rearranged to provide comfort and growth during their recovery from grief.

The Perfect Wall Hardware Finish

Design is in the detail, down to the nails in the wall and it drives us crazy when we see beautifully designed rooms with small details unfinished or in the wrong finish. And a lot of the time, the details are really what sets your design apart from the usual or the hum drum norm.  Now you can find the perfect metal match in wall hardware that’s both functional and decorative.

Six great finishes including nickel, brass, copper, antique bronze, black iron and pewter. Each kit comes in a reusable storage box with over 60 pieces including picture hanging hardware, small cup hooks, large head nails and a mini level.

It's Scrapbook Layout Art

Get inspired by your favorite family scrapbooking layout and create a scrapbook art piece. The same great techniques that are used on paper are perfect when applied to our 100% Natural Stretched Canvases. Stamp, Spritz, Ink, Mist, Paint, Rub-on, Iron-on, Glue, Brads, Die Cutting and so much more.

This fun project was created with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist sprayed directly onto the natural canvas using your choice of acrylic or paper mask to create the design. Spell FAMILY with your favorite Cricut cartridge and layer onto papers that fit the style of your space. Matte the picture and place directly onto the canvas using our favorite glue from Beacon, Zip Dry. Embellish with brads, metal findings, buttons, wire, crystals…
